![]() August 26We have a really great season shaping up .. we are booked into next year and we haven't been to the Folk Conference yet!
See our calendar at http://www.rootsmusiccoffeehouse.com/calendar.cfm I hope everyone has had a great summer ... I did! April 8It's after midnight ... so this is a Tuesday post. I am looking at the week from hell, and I am actually kind of excited about it. It's fun being busy.
I went back and read my blog about Victoria Vox .. I must have been waxing poetic when I wrote it .. I cannot add any more info except that she sent me an email on April 1 ... that her new CD had arrived and is ready for marketing, so guess what? Roots Music Coffeehouse is having a CD release Party for a great entertainer from Maryland! Prepare to be among the first to own a copy of "Chameleon". And the artist who made it all happen will be there to sign it! By the way, I have temporarily removed the "membership" reqirement from the Weblog, but if it becomes problematic I will make it private again for the few of you who have joined it. I don't know how many of you use RSS. I find it very handy for daily news items and such. But I also particularly like it for weblogs ... I feel like I am being kept up-to-date with distant friends. Have fun playing with it. You can use it on iGoogle and Yahoomail and a bunch of other methods. I actually use an enterprise server edition of Attensa which can actually feed MS Outlook.like the items are email! And this blog could be your first feed. Just look for the little orange RSS box. Friday must be writing dayI am looking forward to this weekend .. Mike Agranoff can cram a lot of performance in just a few minutes... I can't wait to see him do a whole show!
It's FridayI have spent the better part of my day messing around with the website and finalizing our calendar for the whole year. Our performers are a Who's Who of really clever songwriters who will give you a show that cannot be beat. I cannot believe the range of talent that is out there begging for an audience ... you.
Please remember to bring all your friends and family to any one of our shows and you will find that you had a really great night out in a friendly place for $10. I have a feeling that I am going to have to begin booking for next year, too. Banner Code![]() to put a banner like this on your web-page copy and paste the following source code: <a href="http://www.rootsmusiccoffeehouse.com" target="_new"> <img src="http://users.bandzoogle.com/rootsmusiccoffeehouse/images/source/199119.jpg" border="1" alt="Roots Music Coffeehouse" title="Roots Music Coffeehouse"></a> Why?I have never understood why people keep "weblogs" I mean who really gives a flying bird what I think or feel at a given instant in time?
However, I do have something to say: I am very excited about our upcoming season. The NERFA convention was a total blast, and I made many new friends. My Dad's Truck and I have been friends for years. I am looking forward to their Solstice Special. I love hearing Bonnie sing ... and there is always something fresh from these fine performers. Mike Agranoff - is a stellar character. His website reminds me of Shel Silverstein poetry, as does his music. This night is going to be a rollicking good time Spook Handy is going to be the next Pete Seegar ... they are clearly good pals, and they are big shoes to filll. Spook fits the bill. He asked for someone to perform as an opener, preferably someone young. So the Open Mike will feature 13 year old Joe Krzyzewski. Joe at age 13 is an accomplished playwright and songwriter. He will be fun to hear too! I met Victoria Vox several years ago at a tiny joint someplace in New York ... like Peekskill somewhere. She and a friend were playing for tips and she just floored me then with her great big smile. Now that she has had time to work on her craft, and plays the meanest ukelele you will ever hear. Got one in the attic? Victoria will inspire you to dust it off and play a little yodelly music. Joe Crookston is a smooth and polished performer - we are lucky to get him to come. I heard him play at NERFA and he almost defines music with his talent. A special treat for Father's Day weekend. Lara Herscovitch - I have heard her play many times and she still seems to be getting better each time. Her clever songwriing in two languages is really something to hear ... I no longer wonder why people like opera with out even understanding the language. It just sounds great. And in 2006 she won the John Lennon songwriting award for an Hispanic song! All Posts
