Ina May Wool

We have had a lot of really great performers and we are particularly lucky to have Ina May Wool come to our coffeehouse this Saturday. It was interesting booking her. For the most part, I have people emailing me time and again ... following up, sending CD's to the Dance Studio (we don't really have our own address). All are good performers.

But sometimes there is a special performer. I have known Ina May for several years. I remeber her sitting on a hilltop at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival making beautiful harmonies with the mainstage act on the fly. That vocal ability combined with her skills as a songwriter put her high on my list of desired performers. I emailed her and she said she wasn't actively seeking gigs because she was working on a project. So we arranged a mutually desireable date and are blessed to have her play for us.

Our Open Mike Feature performer is someone I met and heard play just last week. Pamela Gilmartin is well-known locally as one of the driving forces behind the jam band Sans Cherubs. I can only imagine in my dreams what she sounds like singing with her good friend Wendy Cahill, a powerful performer in her own right. It'll be a great night!
